20 Ways to Get Motivated
ByI’ve been talking with a friend about motivation lately. I was saying a lot of motivation is energy management. It is so hard to get yourself to do anything when you are tired and de-energized. So pacing yourself with energizing breaks like drinking water, taking a walk, doing 5 min of yoga, managing your emotions, fun music, doing something creative or spiritual can keep you more motivated. When you are energized you almost can’t stop yourself from getting things done.
I also ran across a list of mainly mental ways to get motivated. A few of them I do as often as possible like keeping positive, visualizing my goal and making it a little of a competition. I also agree in making your task a pleasure. There are all sorts of ways to make a task you dislike turn into more of a joy- music, lighting candles, doing something fun right afterwards, thinking of the rewards of doing this, creating a nurturing space for it, doing it with a friend.
