30 Day Declutter Challenge – August 3
By
My biggest declutter issue has always been books. I inhale information. I have bookshelves in the bedroom, living room, office and office closet. Not to mention the kids’ bookshelves. When books no longer fit in the shelves I need to get rid of them.
So I decluttered a whole box of books. And hired my son to put them on half.com for me.

Today’s declutter event was taking two huge bags of donations OUT of the house and car, and delivering them into the waiting bins at the Salvation Army. I also did a quick run through of my daughter’s socks, mainly so I could close her drawer as I put away her laundry.
I am loving this challenge! It’s funny how the little bits of decluttering are already making me feel less stressed with my environment. I do want to make a comment on your books — have you seen paperbackswap.com? You can post books there (not just paperbacks but also hardcover, audio, etc.), get a credit for books people take, then use those credits to get more books to read! You pay shipping when someone wants your book, but the other person pays shipping when you order a book from them. Also a place to get rid of DVD’s (swapadvd.com) and CD’s (swapacd.com), which I’ll be using later this week when I declutter the family room of old DVD’s! Thanks so much for this challenge AND your great web site. I’m a fan
Klj – really good. I hate when the clutter containers for Goodwill become clutter themselves because they hang around too long.
Great Joan – glad to hear it!
Thanks for the swap URL’s. AT this point I can’t swap books because I can’t have any more LOL but I will definitely check out the CD and DVD ones.
