Comfort Basket
ByWhat would it be like if on a bad, grumpy, down day you could go to something you know would brighten your day.
Sarah Ban Breathnach, in her book Simple Abundance, suggests creating a comfort basket or drawer.
What kinds of things could you put in your comfort basket? Well, what nurtures you?
- You can put in favorite books, graphic novels, poetry or card decks.
- Cards or notes that people have written you that remind you that you are loved.
- Beauty samples like a special lotion, massagers, heating pad, bubble bath.
- Candles, essentials oils, incense.
- A notebook and colorful pen.
- Special teas, coffees or chocolate.
- Pictures or a scrapbook
- Soft socks, soft nightgown or a small blanket
- A beautiful art book or magazine
- Lists of things that bring us joy or things we like to do.
- Music CD’s or movies that uplift you.
- A magnetic poetry kit.
- A gift from a friend.
- Rocks or shells.
- Clay, crayons, art supplies.
What would you add to your comfort drawer or basket?

What a wonderful idea! I would love to make something like this for each of my children as well.
In my basket I would put a scented candle, a favorite lotion and spray, a small book of short stories or fun/motivational quotes. I would also put pictures of my family.
Thanks for sharing this. I can’t think of anything else I could add that would make me happier than a Carmello! You already have that covered with the chocolate.
Love your ideas Raelene!
Hope you fill up a basket Cindy.
