Computer Maintenance

A friend was asking how to speed up her computer. I thought I would share it with others:

1. I would try running adaware:http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
2. Run Spybot Search and Destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html?tag=price
3. Run a virus scan (if you want a free one you can go here: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp)
4. Disk defrag and check disk (Go to my computer, right click on your hard drive, Click Properties, Click Tools and you will find check now and defrag now.)

These should be done regularly, at least monthly, ideally weekly.
