Relax and Destress

By

Part of the reason we long for a simpler, saner life is so we have more time to relax and destress. It’s hard on us when we are on the go constantly. Do you unwind every evening? Do you have something to look forward to? Anything you really want to do? Or do you spend all your evenings doing extra work, catching up on email, zoning out in front of the TV because you have no energy or cleaning the house?

If that’s the case, it’s pretty hard to get up in the morning when you have nothing to look forward to.
Make a list of things you would love to do if you had more time. Read, baths, visiting with friends, playing the piano, scrapbooking, playing games with the kids. Now tonight before you even turn on the TV do something fun.

Along with fun, do you make time for music, museums, flowers, journaling, quiet time, or a spiritual life? Create a no interruption time once a day to re-center yourself. Even if it is just 5 minutes.

  1. Great post (as usual!). I can completely relate to this one, I am an on the go person who fancies doing more than is humanly possible. I like the idea of making a list of things that would be fun and then start doing things on the list as a regular part of the week! I was just thinking about this idea of busyness today for a future post so I am glad I popped in to get my wheels turning!
