Looking forward to seeing that Stanley. I hope your feet enjoy the shoes.

Good idea Niki. I'm sure you did better today.

Nic, I love BookMooch! It's a great way for me to declutter books and get new reads.

Michelle, but book and tuition are necessary if you want to take your course. I hope you stayed on track with the grocery shopping.

Jen, for me eat out is a definite no no on the fast. I need to plan ahead better to pull it off for a whole month though.

I'm glad the spending fast is off to a great start! Question--do you allow yourself to purchase pre-made food (i.e., to eat out)?

I did fine. It was a bank holiday here and I stayed home all day pretty much relaxing. However, I registered online for my next seminary course. That'll run me about $800 and the books are $137.45 including postage. Ugh!

Glad I read your post about grocery shopping as I'll be heading out shortly. I want to stock up on some staples so it may be a bigger total than usual, but I'll make a point of avoiding impulse buys. I've actually been quite good about that lately. Certain items that are a bit higher priced, I only buy when they're on sale --- like the mini-pizzas I like for a quick go-to meal when I don't have much time to cook.

I did okay - I bought fresh food, and I bought other groceries to replace ones we'd already used up. I also mailed a lot of Bookmooch packages that had been hanging around - so that got rid of stuff, even though it involved spending money :o)

So I spaced the spending fast as I didn't realize today was May 1st already. But check out my blog entry today to see how I plan to keep myself on track! Tomorrow is a new day, right?

Yesterday, I misinterpreted your advice about a spending fast and instead I spent money fast.

I ruptured my achilles tendon 6 months ago and now that everything is about 85% back to normal, I got rid of all my shoes. I went out and bought new, custom made shoes that are designed specifically for my feet. Then I also bought custom made orthotics to go inside those shoes.

All because I want to get back to exercising and I don't want to blow out my tendon again. You don't want to know how much it all cost.

In any event, I'll try to take your advice and spend a little slower . . .
