Summer Rituals

By Beth

I saw back to school supplies at Office Max the other day. It feels like school just got out.

So on Wednesday, I declared Wednesdays Beach Day until the end of summer. We spent Wednesday afternoon playing in Lake Michigan, then I read while the kids built sand projects.

What summer activity do you love to do, but it seems summer slips by before you do it? Maybe you can institute a weekly miniature golf outings, or every Friday evening you bike to the local ice cream shop with the family, or you can decide you will see a sunrise or sunset at least once a week.

What ritual can you create for the rest of the summer?

I have made it a ritual to have breakfast on my deck in the morning, to breathe the (usually cool) air and start my day peacefully.

Oh, I love this idea Carrie!

I enjoy reading your blog! I like your ideas!
We like to take advantage of the summer movie’s. I know this isn’t outside enjoyment, but our theatre offers $2.50 movies on Wednesday and Thursday’s. They are usually ones that are already out on DVD but they do show a few that are close to new releases. They give us free popcorn to go with our movie.
I would love to go to the beach every week! We don’t live close enough to one to enjoy it. That is great that you do!! I too feel like school has just let out. I sit and think “Where did the summer go?”

In hot weather, there is certainly nothing wrong with being in a cool theater! Especially with such inexpensive movies. Enjoy :)
