You mentioned that you cancelled your Blockbuster plan and hadn't watched any movies since the beginning of the year except for what you borrowed from your father-in-law. I've got to tell you what I stumbled across. Our public library has movies - dvd and vcr. Old and new movies. When I pretty much exhausted our library I got this brilliant idea to see if I could borrow movies from the inter-library loan. (That's when your library doesn't have it, but they can borrow it from the network they are in.) I can access the library card catalogue from my computer at home and even place my requests. Couldn't be any easier and the price can't be beat. Check out your public library and see if they lend movies. As soon as I see the commercials on tv or the display in Wal-mart listing the movies that were at the theater 6 months ago and soon to be released on dvd I check the library's card catalog and then put my request in.

Hi Beth! Thank you for your sweet comment! Rosamunde Pilcher's books are usually set in England, but they are full of domestic details. I would suggest The Shell Seekers as a first read. Have a lovely day... :)
