Underwater

It may seem like a little thing, but I was so excited to be swimming underwater tonight. Usually I have my contacts on so I don’t risk having them pop out of my eye in the water. I stay away from too much splashing and never put my face in the water. But, today my eyes were itchy from allergies. I wore my glasses to the pool, laying them on my towel. I swam underwater for the first time in years. Memories burst in on me as I tried things I used to do like rolls, handstands, and diving for rings. I am beaming happy this evening.
