“There is more to life than increasing its speed.” -Gandhi
Having recently finished Carl Honore’s book ‘In Praise of Slowness,’ I have been reminded that the object is not to fit as much into each day as possible until you are doing nothing but running. Where are you running to? What are you running from?
Carl says speeding only gets a person to their destination about 90 seconds earlier. But, how many accidents does it cause? Someテつ more ways to slow down?テつ Cook a meal slowly and savor it. Walk some errands instead of drive. Stop to chatテつ with neighbors. Fins some fun leisure activities you look forward to. Check into working less hours.テつ
テつ A whole slow movement is appearing in countries and cities around the world.
I was excited to see someone else reading and writing on the subject. I am Fab, adds someテつ more joys ofテつ slow.テつ

What a great quote. I post a quote a day about simplicity on my blog, and that one will definately be making the list.
You know, the stopping to chat with neighbors advice is harder than you would think, because even if you have slowed down enough to enjoy chatting, the neighbors haven’t…
I know what you mean. The whole society has sped up. That’s why I love connecting with people who want to take life a little slower.
I have read the book and loved it. I try an practice it everyday. It is something thats hard to do in this world because everyone one else is not trying at all. Speed is everything in this world today. I am thinking of taking a different job. I always seam to find a job or business that makes my life crazier rather that slower. I have to fight back and tell myself that it can’t be that way any more. I would love a job or business that actually makes money yet would provide a workable life. Anyone with ideas? I would love to hear them. I amsure someone has found something that they like and don’t mind going too day after day.
