Today was a better day than yesterday – and all it took was a little planning.
It’s Tulip Time here and my daughter marched in the VolksParade yesterday and the Kinderparade today for her band (she is a coronet player).

Great Dutch painter look alikes
Yesterday we scrambled to get her to school, then went out for fast food on the way to the parade. We also stopped at the gas station for bottled water and some fruit slice candy. I loved watching the parade with friends and family, but I was roasting in my black capris. And my son got a little burnt on his nose because he forgot sunscreen and a cap.
So today, I had my husband drive my daughter to school while I made lunch. We ate here before we left. I had water bottles in the fridge which we took and some dried fruit. Plus I wore light pants to reflect the sun. My son dabbed on sunscreen before we left and grabbed a light colored cap. More comfortable and we spent less money.
But, we did get a bag of cotton candy to share between the four of us to celebrate Brea’s marching.

What a great time! We missed our tulip time, so I was glad to hear about yours!
Hi Beth
I love your site. The tulip festival looks like fun.
Congraulations on joining Gack Ink. I have a Gack Ink site too, and it’s a ton of fun working with such a supportive group. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
