I’ve been reading a few books about the French way of eating: The Fat Fallacy by WIll Clower, Ph.D, Joie de Vivre by Robert Arbor and Entre Nous by Debra Ollivier. The basic premise of all the books is that the French have a good relationship with food while Americans typically are always fighting with food. In France they sit down to there meals. Lunch can take an hour. Dinner two. They eat in courses, making sure everyone is finished with one before starting another.
The French eat real food like meat, yogurt, butter, vegetables, not pre-packaged, chemically laden faux foods. They only have one snack in the afternoon instead of constant nibbling. They enjoy and savor their food. They enjoy it then they don’t crave more. I love this way of eating.
