The other day I was writing in my journal about ways I can comfort myself when I am down. After I looked over the list I was shocked that they all cost little or no money:
- reframing what happened more positively
- listening to music
- petting the cat
- getting lost in a favorite movie or book
- taking a walk
- asking myself what I need
Buying a pick-me-up wasn’t even on the list! I wonder how many times I have tried to cheer myself up with the wrong thing.
