I was at a conference last week. I vainly thought I could still blog, exercise daily, wake up early every day. Yeah, right.

Sometimes you just can’t do it all. One part of your life takes over the rest for a short time. For mother’s of little ones you know it’s all about them at this point.

If you feel totally off balance, it may be time to ask for help. Maybe your husband can watch the kids while you exercise. Maybe you can switch child care with a neighbor. Maybe you need to get an assistant. Maybe a housekeeper.

I used to think things like massages and plays were out of my budget. But, when I planned for them I was able to take a little money out of the dining out budget or quit buying as many things for the house or more clothes.

At this point in my life, I don’t want to buy more things. I want to buy experiences or resources to help me live a saner, simpler life. And many experiences and resources are free.

Where are you way off balance and could use some help?

  • Alan says:

True. No matter how positive we think, there are situations which require a lot of our time and ruin our plans.
I find sickness as one of the main causes those off balance.

  • Fran says:

I also feel off balance when something crucial needs immediate attention. It may have a specific purpose, but it also delays my activities which causes a chain reaction.
