We had a wonderful family reunion in Cedar Lake, Indiana. I feel blessed by my family.
The days were spent swimming, tubing, riding a pontoon boat, walking, playing in the rec center, playing tennis, going to the park and hanging out talking.
We also visited a candy factory.
The evenings were talking and board games. We also had talent nights. My cousin Andrew who is a church worship director played the guitar while we all sang together. Uncle Rich did an interpretative reading on baseball. We had a couple skits. My Dad showed old slides of the family that had us all laughing and reminiscing. Cousing Bryce played Simple Gifts on the guitar while young Stephanie played Ode to Joy on the recorder.
At the campfire we cooked s’mores and told jokes and stories.
The last day was a big picnic where even more family members came. We celebrated my Grandpa’s birthday. Everyone had made notes of gratitude, love or stories for Grandpa. And two of my aunt’s scrapbooked them into an album. He was very touched and gave thanks that God had allowed him to live a life of faith all these years.
