Yesterday my daughter and I made ice cream with her Baskin Robbins ice cream maker. She just loves to do that. My husband, his dad, and our son went to the computer store and I asked Brea what she wanted to do. “Make ice cream!” she giggled. Afterwards we picked up Master and Commander plus Scooby Doo at the video store. We had to stay in the car when we pulled up to the store, because one of our favorite songs were on. Brea and I sang nice and loud till the song was over. We got a few glances from people actually going into the store, not just sitting in their car outside the store.

Yesterday was my monthly planning. My two main goals this month are:

1.To finish decluttering so I can put on a garage sale

2. Work on my health – exercise, more fruits and vegies, water and stress relief

We are in charge of what we watch, listen to and think
about, and for better or worse, every bit of it shapes our
lives and predicts our future. We can surround ourselves
with the best ideas and the best resources ever created –
and we should!
– From Phil Humbert’s last newsletter

I totally agree. So much of our life is formed by what we are focusing on. When we focus on negatives and garbage our lives tend to go downhill. But, when we focus on the positives, appreciation, great literature, joyful people we seem to attract a better life.

I read a wonderful article from a newsletter sent out by Confidence World. It talks about how you are feeling at any given moment has to do with three things:

1. What you are focusing on- what questions are you asking yourself, are you seeing things positively or negatively?
2. How is your physiology- are your shoulders slumped or held high, are you breathing well, are you smiling?
3. What language you are using- are you incensed or annoyed, depressed or a bit down, exhuberant or happy?

Each of these things are in your control, so you are able to change how you are feeling in a moment!

We had a great Labor Day weekend with friends and family. We went camping in some cabins. We talked, boated, swam, canoed, hiked, felowshipped, played games and had an awesome time. This is an annual trip we look forward to every year.

I love photography. I ran across the 800×600 Project the other day. One subject, but a grid of pictures.

I hope you all had a good weekend. We spent Thanksgiving across the state at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. We did the traditional things like eating, playing Boggle, getting a tree and sitting around chatting. I also got to spend a day with my sister while my husband took the kids to his brother’s house to play with their kids. We almost beat the snow on the drive home. The blizzard started right before got home.

I am beginning this blog to share with you personal development news and sites. I think we all have potential we don’t even come close to. I’d hate to think my life wasn’t lived the best it could.
