In Praise of Slowness

“There is more to life than increasing its speed.” -Gandhi

Having recently finished Carl Honore’s book ‘In Praise of Slowness,’ I have been reminded that the object is not to fit as much into each day as possible until you are doing nothing but running. Where are you running to? What are you running from?

Carl says speeding only gets a person to their destination about 90 seconds earlier. But, how many accidents does it cause? Some more ways to slow down? Cook a meal slowly and savor it. Walk some errands instead of drive. Stop to chat with neighbors. Fins some fun leisure activities you look forward to. Check into working less hours.Â

A whole slow movement is appearing in countries and cities around the world.

I was excited to see someone else reading and writing on the subject. I am Fab, adds some more joys of slow.Â
