Simplify Your Life for Better Health

Why is one of the first things to go when we get busy is time for our health -when this is the time we need to be healthy the most?

Housekeeping can be let go of (but if you do housework fast you can get an aerobic workout out of it)

Most of your evening meetings can be let go of if you don’t have enough time to take care of your health

TV can be turned of (or exercise while watching TV)

Your health needs to be one of your top priorities or you won’t have the energy or strength to live life to the fullest. I know, it never seems urgent enough until you get sick. But, do you really want that wake up call?

If you are too busy to do even the basics to take care of your health – 7 hours of sleep, 30 min of exercise 3 times a week, and eating mostly healthy foods (meaning getting a menu plan together, shopping and sitting down to eat), it’s time to evaluate your life. What is taking up your time? What can you let go of? What can you combine to get a workout in (time with a friend walking, walking to errands, lifting weights to your favorite TV show)? Can you slow down when you eat one of your meals during the day, so you don’t overeat?

Jobs can be changed, kids can be in less activities, your family can help out more with the house, but you can’t neglect your health and expect to be in great shape forever. What step will you take to simplify your life for better health?
