The Box in the Living Room
I got a new laptop before my blog conference after my old one died. I was in a hurry to pack up for the conference. The laptop couldn’t have died at a worse time. So I left all the boxes out.
When I came home from my trip the laptop box was still in the living room. Along with the cooling pad box, 2 software boxes and an air conditioning box my husband brought back from his parents.
Every time I looked in the living room I thought, “Look at that eyesore. I should take care of that.” But, I just didn’t have time to take care of them. For a full week I did that.
Today my husband grabs the boxes, breaks them down and takes them out. It took 5 minutes.
What 5 minute eyesores do you have around?
OUCH!!!!! So, it’s not just us? Thank you for having the courage to share this. I am working on this daily – throwing things away that are not being used, but for some reason I continue to get hung up on “my boxes in the living room”. For me, talking and reading about my faults and weaknesses bring them to the forefront of my consciousness where I am better able to address them and work to rid myself of their depressing and paralyzing weight.
Hi Robin,
You sound like you are getting there. I am impressed with your daily commitment to getting rid of clutter. It is so true that sometimes you just don’t see things until your eyes are opened. Maybe with all the work you have done you are ready to see now.
Keep it up!
