This week Tulip Time started, so after a day of yard work I took my daughter to see the fireworks.

Mother’s Day was more introspective as I grieved and wore black for my son Jonathan’s death. I was also blessed with an outpouring of love from friends and family. And even a lovely visit from one of Jon’s friends. We are wonderfully complex and can hold grieving, sadness, joy and love all at the same time.


  1. What needs a little more energy from you?
  2. Clarify the difference between desires and needs.
  3. Invite a friend over for a simple fruit dessert.
  4. Appreciate how incredible your life is right now.
  5. Get off junk mail lists.
  6. Limit eating out this month.
  7. Unjoin a group that no longer suits your life.
