I was asking myself a question this week and I thought it would be helpful for you as well.
What would your life be like if you were satisfied with what you had, what you got done, how you look and who you are?
I was thinking how freeing that would be. It doesn’t mean I wouldn’t go after more, but I would be satisfied with the present and letting go of the "shoulds" and the pressure.
What about you?

Hi!
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your blog posts and also, how they inspire me.
Thanks so much!
Love,
Jen
Thanks Jen, I really appreciate it 🙂
I just found your blog this morning and I’m looking forward to reading more.
I’ve been thinking a lot about being satisfied lately, and I’ve been doing quite a bit of organizing and scaling back within my home. But the biggest change for me has been a long awaited medical diagnosis of PCOS. So many things I’ve struggled with for over half my life finally make sense. Some of my greatest “character flaws” are not flaws at all, but side-effects of a medical condition. For the first time in my life I feel completely okay with who I am right at this moment. I have changes to make to get the PCOS under control, but I finally feel free.
Thanks for sharing that Tonya!
I think, people will never be satisfied with what they have and what they are. We are just made so. We are always striving to something better. If you will find someone who doesn’t want to change something in his/her life and who is fully satisfied with everything, let me know.
This is an excellent comment. I wrote a whole post in reply, but I didn’t save it periodically and it disappeared. Basically it said I am all for goal setting, bettering yourself and wanting more. But, that doesn’t negate being satisfied now. You can see the good in the present and in what you are doing right now.
I love this quote by Mexican Poet, Octavio Paz:
“The supreme value is not the future but the present. The future is a deceitful time that always says to us, ‘Not Yet,’ and thus denies us… Whoever builds a house for future happiness builds a prison for the present.”
